What is different now about spore than when it first came out?

I bought and played spore when it first came out, and i got to the space stage. I was disappointed at the little there was to do in space. It seemed very limited to me. You couldn't destroy suns or gas giants, and couldn't find miscellaneous things in space like comets and stuff like that which was shown in the original guide.

My question is what new updates have come out and what have they done to the game that is different and possibly made it more fun. Also are there any coming out in the near future that look to improve the game? What is different now about spore than when it first came out?
If you have the PC version, then I'd have to say the additional down loadable content that came with the latest patch.

I don't have an answer but I am in the same boat as you, I felt on the whole the game was a bit of a let down. What is different now about spore than when it first came out?
TRY going to spore wikia.com
Well I have reached the space stage in my game, and im playing on a mac. I have found Comets in orbit around pretty much every star. You can find planets at various stages of development and either take them over invasion style or drop a Monolith and make them develop into a higher stage. i don't know if you can destroy suns and Gas Giants, But I have ran across a lot of Gas Giants and haven't found out if you can do anything with them, as it wont let you land on them. the worm holes are pretty cool. And the sheer size of the space stage leads me to believe that there are plenty of things for me to still discover. The quests are a little redundant as I find myself constantly preventing Eco-disasters on my colonies as well as my allies colonies. i have been in a couple galactic wars. that was pretty fun. Its been a pretty good game so far. I have found it to have more than enough in all of the different stages of game play to keep me interested.
