How Do i place plants and animals on a planet in spore?

I've made it to the galactic stage in Spore and cant seem to raise the Terroscore. I've made my planet a T1 but now its asking my to put plants and animals on the planet and i can't seem to put them down. please help.How Do i place plants and animals on a planet in spore?
You need to abduct several samples of plants and animals from other planets, then beam them down onto your planet. Make sure you place the plants down first, then herbivores, then carnivores/omnivores.
