I believe what you are asking about it the zygospore that is formed during sexual reproduction in fungus. The hyphae must be from two different mating types, male and female, and the fungal colonies must be compatible.The hyphal cells from the two mating types fuse to form a bridge, then the nucleus from the male cell (antheridium) travels across the bridge to the female cell (ascogonium). The nuclei fuse to form the zygote, which eventually becomes a zygospore. The zygospore is dark brown in color and more or less round, and has the original bridge hyphae (these are clear looking - hyaline) of the two fungi still attached on either side.
