What are the differences between Spore and Black and White 2?

I have heard that both are 'god games', but I'm a bigger fan of Black and White (I still play the original) and I've never even heard of Spore until a few days ago.

In terms of graphics and specs; Spore has better graphics and needs more hardware. That is because it is a newer game.



Both games are divided into chapters. Spore is divided into creature/civilization stages; Black and White is divided into lands.



Black and White allows more building options and terrain controls...At least at first. Spore allows to you more control over your creature design. BaW is always in god mode, you only control units through orders, it is up to the units to determine whether to do what you tell them to. In Spore, you control a singular unit in all the phases but Tribe and Civilization, where you control a very small number of similar creatures or vehicles.



Spore is a much longer game, at least once you get to the Space stage and because it is longer, it has more secrets. In addition, Spore pulls content from the internet (if you let it) to flesh out it's civilizations and creatures. This adds a lot to it's replay value.
The real difference? Spore is a lie....

What are the differences between Spore and Black and White 2?
Spore has better graphics, just because it's newer, really.



Gameplay is quite different. Spore is about creating your own creatures and making a whole race out of them and watching them develop to the point where they have the ability to travel through space and whatnot.



Black and White though, is just you deciding whether to feed villagers or set them on fire.



Specs I don't know, you don't need a particularly high end computer to run it. If I remember correctly, you can run it on a Macbook.
B%26amp;W 2 is an RTS with a large unit (your creature) and special abilities (miracles/blessings). Spore changes in play-style over the time-line of the game. In addition, while B%26amp;W 2 has a fairly built in set of looks, Spore has almost endless possibilities! I've even created a creature with no eyes, a huge mouth and a stinger on it's tail.What are the differences between Spore and Black and White 2?
