How to become an epic in spore?

I have seen many youtube vids about a person being able to be an epic in spore. I have tried almost all of the ways to become an epic and none of them work. Does anyone really know how? Be very descriptive.How to become an epic in spore?

Your only way is to cheat, but if you cheat you'll get the joker badge, which will tell everybody that you cheated (and its impossible to get rid of it.)
