How do I convert other nations in Spore?

My nation in Spore is at the beginning of the civilization stage, and it is following the religious strategy. I've had two land vehicles at another nearby nation trying to convert it for a while now, and after a while the conversion bar showed up, but then it went away. How do I advance in the stage and convert other nations? Please help!How do I convert other nations in Spore?
You'll definitely need more than two units. If you get a bunch of land vehicles over, I would recommend first taking out the turrets so they don't kill you while you convert the other town. You can right click on the enemy town hall and choose the Convert option. This will make your vehicles automatically target the entertainment buildings and take them down. For religious conversion, the people have to get really unhappy. Things are much faster with more units. Also, be sure in your vehicle builder, you've maxed out your religious power as much as you can afford to (you'll still need some speed and health). This will also make conversion faster.
Converting a city depends on your unit design. If you set enough religious items on a vehicle you COULD in theory convert a city with 2 units. However, you should be using quite a bit more.



I recommend at least one unit per turret and entertainment building in your target city. Religious vehicles can stun those buildings, but only one at a time.



I have converted cites on easy with as few as 5 religious vehicles balanced to about 40% religious power, but it took several minutes. Fortunately they didn't have any attack vehicles to destroy mine, though I did lose one to turrets.



Spend money as freely as you can in this age, it doesn't carry over to the next. With good city-building and capturing of multiple vents, money shouldn't be a major worry.How do I convert other nations in Spore?
there are three types of conquering a city:by military means (attack and almost destroy it),by economic means(get a lot of money and just buy the city) and by religious means(make them dream of a planetary sized nation and they will voluntarily join you).Just buy more vehicles and try to make them less happier by destroying their entertaining buildings
I usually clicked on the military header bar on the right side of the screen so it would select all units (sea, air, land) went into the mini map, right clicked on the city I wanted to engage, then let the AI play the battle outHow do I convert other nations in Spore?
you probably want to put some religious weapons on your vehicles, then select your vehicles and click on a city and click convert it should show the religious sign
you just have to use more units. Build more houses in your cities to create more units.
More units is the way to go thats how you do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
